New Legislation

A hot topic for the past several months has been the time required for a real estate license applicant to obtain a background check. Senate Bill 332 that has passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor allows the background investigation to begin sooner, rather than at the time the application for a real estate license is submitted to the Real Estate Division. This bill was submitted by the Real Estate Division and supported by NVAR.

This bill should drastically reduce the time it takes to get a real estate license in Nevada.

One Response so far

For a state which prides itself on less government and ease of doing business, I continue to be amazed at how difficult it is to get a real estate license in Nevada, and how silly some of the Nevada law is. From the time of application to the issuance of the license is somewhere around 16 weeks. This is not good government, this is inefficient and ineffective government.
