History In The Making
The Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is now officially a part of history. It was imploded to make room for the new $5 billion City Center project.
It took only seconds for the 16 story structure to come down in a thick cloud of smoke and dust. The Boardwalk was closed in January so that MGM-Mirage could make use of the land for the Las Vegas mega-structure.
The property is set to be a place for people to live, work and play. There will be hotels, casino, and condos, as well as retail areas.
